Evotech attends Air Quality News Conference
Evotech recently exhibited at the Air Quality News Conference for the third year. Held at Lords Cricket Ground in London the event attracts key air quality speakers and influencers and this year, as air quality and climate change move further up the agenda, some influential speakers took to the stage.
Labour MP and Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Air Pollution, Geraint Davies MP took to the stage to talk about UK Government policy on air quality. Geraint leads cross-party discussions on how to improve air quality in the UK and his Clean Air Bill provides a blueprint for new legislation to tackle toxic air in the UK.
Later, Professor Catherine Noakes OBE, provided some great insights into the importance of building ventilation. Prof. Noakes is a chartered mechanical engineer, with a background in fluid dynamics and leads research on ventilation, indoor air quality and infection control in the built environment at the University of Leeds. She also co-chaired the Environment and Modelling subgroup for the UK Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE), which led to her being awarded an OBE for Services to the pandemic in 2020 and it was a privilege to be able to listen to her keynote speech. A full run down of the event is available on the Air Quality News website.
Our team showcased the Airthings for Business indoor and the Airly outdoor air quality sensors to delegates attending the conference and talked about the benefits of Evotech's myBEMS solution to save energy, optimise indoor spaces and reduce carbon emissions.
