Evotech signs Mental Health at Work Commitment to mark World Mental Health Day

10 Oct 2024

On this World Mental Health Day, Evotech, is pleased to announce its formal pledge to fostering healthy workplace wellbeing by signing the Mental Health at Work Commitment. This pledge highlights the company’s focus on prioritising the mental and emotional wellbeing of its employees through comprehensive support, training, and resources.

The theme of this years’ WMHD is, ‘Time To Prioritise Mental Health In The Workplace’, and Evotech is doing just this, having implemented a range of measures to create a more supportive work environment, including the introduction of a certified Mental Health First Aider, as well as mental health awareness training for all its employees.

Evotech’s Mental Health First Aider, is available to offer guidance and support to colleagues in times of stress. This dedicated individual is trained to recognise the signs of poor mental health, provide initial assistance, and help connect employees with appropriate support.

“We understand that mental health is just as important as physical health,” said Managing Director, Mark O’Grady. “By having a trained Mental Health First Aider on staff, we ensure that our employees have access to someone they can turn to in times of need. And, by signing the Mental Health at Work Commitment, we have reaffirmed our drive for workplace wellbeing and pledge to further build on that work, ensuring that the mental and emotional wellbeing of our employees is given the attention and support it deserves.”

Evotech has, for a number of years, provided training for all staff on how to recognise the signs of poor mental health and offer support to colleagues. This training aims to ensure that all employees, from entry-level positions to senior leadership, are equipped to support one another, fostering a more inclusive and compassionate working culture. In addition to these measures, Evotech will continue to provide employees with access to mental health professionals and resources to help maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Developed with the knowledge and expertise of mental health charities, leading employers and trade organisations, the Mental Health at Work Commitment provides a simple framework for employers who recognise the importance of promoting staff wellbeing. The framework sets out six clear standards which are based on the Thriving at Work standards, to make a difference and create an environment where employees can thrive.

“At Evotech, we believe that creating a healthy and supportive working environment benefits everyone,” said HR Manager and Mental Health First Aider, Ivy Malinowska. “By signing the Mental Health at Work Commitment, we’re working to ensure a healthier, happier, and more productive working environment for all.”
