A new report by the World Economic Forum (WEF) presents 11 strategies for unlocking growth whilst reducing CO2 output from the built environment. 

The research indicates that implementing all recommendations could reduce greenhouse gas emissions from buildings by 80 percent, creating a global market worth £1.4 trillion. The WEF report highlights that artificial intelligence (AI) is seen as more crucial than traditional methods like insulation and renovation for improving energy efficiency.

The WEF encourages investors to consider digitalisation of building operations and urges architects and engineers to adopt energy management technologies.

AI-driven platforms can optimise building energy systems in real-time to reduce emissions and enhance operations. Investing in AI-based solutions not only cuts costs but also opens new revenue streams and increases occupant satisfaction, with potential energy savings of 20 percent or more.
